Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the charming town of Santiago de la Ribera, Murcia, Asador Sierra Nevada is a delightful grill restaurant that has quickly become a beloved destination for meat lovers seeking an authentic Spanish dining experience. Away from the bustling seafront, this cozy and immaculately clean spot offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for those who appreciate quality food paired with attentive service.

The heart of Asador Sierra Nevada lies in its exceptional grill cuisine, with a special emphasis on grilled meats that are masterfully prepared. Patrons consistently rave about the mouthwatering chuletón, a succulent ribeye steak that boasts rich marbling and a smoky char from the traditional barbecue. The generous portions, paired with simple but perfectly executed sides—like fresh, crisp salads—create a harmonious balance that highlights the star of the show: the meat. Whether you choose their menu of the day, which features home-cooked dishes bursting with authentic flavors and great value, or the à la carte steaks, each bite reveals outstanding quality and thoughtful preparation.

What truly sets this grill apart is Chef Pedro’s remarkable skill. Customers like Ian Wilson describe their experience as “the best steak I’ve ever had,” praising both the tenderness and the exquisite seasoning that elevates the dishes beyond the ordinary. The welcoming and friendly staff enhance the dining experience, ensuring that every visit feels personalized and comfortable—whether you’re dining inside in the intimate setting or enjoying the inviting outdoor seating.

While some guests note a few occasional hiccups such as variable service during busy times or limited vegetable options—typical in many traditional Spanish asadors—the overall impression is one of authenticity and culinary excellence. Vicky Brown’s enthusiasm for the “fabulous” food under new ownership signals a fresh chapter where quality and value continue to shine. Meanwhile, Kevin Moore’s testament to the restaurant’s evolution, including a potentially exciting reopening with a revamped menu and a broader selection of wines by the glass, hints at even greater things to come.

Whether you are looking for a hearty lunch or a memorable evening indulging in some of the best steaks in the Murcia region, Asador Sierra Nevada is a must-visit. Its genuine charm, combined with high-grade ingredients and expertly crafted barbecue, promises an experience that lingers long after the last bite.

Stopped here for menu of the day. We sat inside really nice little restaurant very clean. We had menu of the day, all home cooked and really good quality. Staff were very attentive, this restaurant is not on the seafront well worth a visit if you are looking for a good value meal. We are going to come back to try it for an evening meal as I think meat here will be excellent.

Possibly will reopen at a new venue. Permanently closed at its current location. New owner, new menu & new wines. Same high quality and value for money. Probably the best steaks in the area. All wines are available by the glass, which is great. You must try this wonderful restaurant!

We chose the chuleton, a small side salad and it was more than enough for 2. The food was delicious, the quality of the meat definitely high and the service very attentive.

So... been here several times for food, very mixed reviews for each visit, including one time they had no steaks available which for me is inexcusable for a steak restaurant, however, each time we have eaten here, the food is first class, the best steaks by far in the area and cooked to absolute perfection, so hats off for that. Service is variable depending on how busy it is, and last time there was no toilet paper in the ladies toilet.... I guess all of these things are important but defo the best steaks by far... give it a try

Food is amazing, best steak I've ever had. Very friendly staff and relax surrounding. Busy restaurant and with food like this I'm not surprised. The cook Pedro is a first class chef. A must go to if your in the area

Very tasty BBQ'd meat meals. Dishes are very generous and the meat is succulent, although not to many vegetables (as per normal for spain though). Nice service and lovely to sit outside.

Hadn’t been for over a year. Think it’s new owners. Food is fabulous. Give it a try!
